Insurance

(i.e., "Is it covered?")

The fast answer is:  Maybe.  Unfortunately, however, your insurance company will do everything it can to avoid paying for vein injections.

Because of this, we do not "accept assignment" from insurance companies. You must pay us, and we will do everything we can to help you get reimbursed by your carrier.

"Spider veins", as you probably already know, are never covered. Coverage is only possible for large varicose veins.

Although the insurance picture is bleak, there are still many instances where insurers will pay for at least part of a treatment. The parts they're most likely to cover are the initial consultation and the ultrasound exam.

The only interventional vein treatment that insurers regularly cover these days is "laser", which has become a national scandal and disgrace, because it has replaced earlier methods which were better and cheaper. To read about laser, and why we do not do it, click here.
